Madhuri Dixit is a legendary actress who made her acting debut in Abodh in 1986. However, it was the film Tezaab (1988) which shot Dixit into super stardom. She went on to star in several successful films and received numerous awards and critical acclaim within the industry.

After Devdas in 2002, Dixit left films to get married and have children. She married an Indian-American doctor, Dr. Sriram Madhav Nene, in 1999 and they live in Denver, Colorado with their two children.

Dixit returned to films in 2007 with Anil Mehta's Aaja Nachle, which failed to do well at the box office.
