Long gone are the days when
Mallika Sherawat was known mainly for her hot kissing scenes. These days the actress has become quite famous - or infamous - for other behaviour while shooting her films.
The latest on the actress is of her tantrums which had Studio 18 in a fix.
According to sources, Studio 18 had signed Sherawat for Rs.95 lakh to play the female lead in a film tentatively titled Masquerade. The actress was paid 25% of her fee as the signing amount for this film to be directed by Kundan Shah.
Apparently Mallika's nakhras started before shooting could even begin; she was not happy with the choices of director and the cinematographer. The cinematographer of Mallika's choice asked for a fee which was way over budget.
When director Kundan Shah decided that he had enough, Mallika coolly went to the press and declared the she had walked out of the film. Studio 18 had no option but to shelve the project.
However, the studio has lodged a complaint with IMPPA and has also asked Mallika to return the signing amount.
