We are all use to seeing Rani Mukerjee playing glamorous roles such as in Chalte Chalte, Hum Tum, Paheli. Rani has certainly come a long way since KKHH. She has portrayed challenging roles in Yuva, Black and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, among others.

What makes one stop and take notice though is the type of roles Rani is taking on now, her current choice of role is playing prostitute in a couple of upcoming prominent films.

Previously, she played the role of a tawaayaf named 'Heera' in Aamir Khan's Mangal Pandey - The Rising. Now, according to the latest buzz, Rani is to play a middle class girl who turns to prostitution in Yash Raj's Laaga Chunari Mein Daag to be directed by Pradeep Sarkar. Apparently, she will also be seen playing a prostitute named 'Gulab' in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya.

Of late she has amazed audiences with her hard hitting portrayals, so it is certain these films will be awaited to see what she has to offer this time.
