Shilpa Shetty was given a spectacular reception at Leicester Square in London for the premiere of Metro, Shilpa's first film after the triumph in the UK's Celebrity Big Brother, which catapulted her to international fame.

Shilpa admitted that the race row that she was a victim of on the show which took the world by storm, helped her career: "It made me a stronger person, and a more famous person of course."

Shilpa told the press she is proud her film was making its debut in London's Leicester Square.

"This is the first-ever Leicester Square premiere for an Indian movie. It's something that I once dreamed of but never imagined would happen."
