Govinda wants to do 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' in Hindi
Govinda wants to do 'Mr and Mrs Iyer' in HindiMumbai, Nov 3 (IANS) "The Jewellery Box" didn't materialise, but Govinda is still kicked with idea of doing a film with Aparna Sen. The comic actor says he is very keen to do a Hindi version of her award winning film "Mr & Mrs Iyer"."The idea of doing the film has been put on hold. Aparnaji feels that role won't do justice to me. But we both would love to work together," Govinda told IANS about "The Jewellery Box".

"
I'd love to do a Hindi version of Aparnaji's 'Mr & Mrs Iyer'. I even have the entire plot in my mind. Now Aparnaji needs to take a call."

Starring Rahul Bose and Konkona Sen Sharma, the English film bagged best feature film award at the Hawaii International Film Festival and the Netpac award at Locarno Film Festival. Sen walked away with National Award for direction.

Post "Partner", and the glowing reviews it got him, Govinda says he is looking at several projects simultaneously.

"I've been offered 12-13 scripts but none of them grabs me immediately. At this stage in my career I've to be fully enthusiastic about my work. 'Partner' with my old friend David Dhawan is out. I can only thank him and Salman-bhai (Salman Khan) for working with me at a time when I was down and out. Of course, after 'Salaam-e-Ishq', my career has improved. But there's a long way to go before I am back on my feet."

A project with Karisma Kapoor has Govinda curious. Both of them worked in hits like "Hero No. 1" and "Coolie No. 1".

"Karisma called up David and expressed a desire to work with him again. That's when the idea of bringing us together again was born. The project has to be worthy of both of us. Karisma has changed so much, for the better of course. I hope I've also changed for the better. Let's see what David designs for us."

Meanwhile, Govinda is planning to design a project for his 17-year-old daughter Narmada.

"Though she has been trained in jewellery designing, I won't stop her from doing whatever she wants. You know a year back when my family and I were a victim of a terrible car accident, she came out of the operation theatre fearing she was disfigured. 'Papa will I be a problem for you?' she asked me. I assured her that she had nothing to fear.

"She proved me right. Not a scratch is visible on her face. Recently, I held her hand and gave her the confidence to walk the ramp for designer Vikram Phadnis. Now she does seem inclined towards acting. And I'm all for it. She's very young. Nowadays kids come into the industry quite young."

He paused, and then said emotionally: "When I came into movies I had no guidance. Narmada has me to hold her hand. She's blessed. As for me, I'm looking for reasons to feel blessed. And every day I surprise myself."
