His is a known face on the modelling circuit and now films as he did his thing in 36 Chinatown.

Now, Upen Patel has added yet another feather to his cap by bagging the coveted Provogue Youth Icon status. The brand ambassador for the new line of innerwear and denim, Upen is naturally thrilled. "It's great to be associated with Provogue. I've signed a five year contract and I hope that we grow together."

Upen says the line is 'very him' and he actually had quite a say in matters. "I identify very much with the clothes as the stuff is what I normally wear – low - waisted jeans, tight ganjis, etc. The best part was that every time I made a suggestion, it was taken seriously and implemented. I had a hand in the look and the styling and I feel like it's my baby too."

So does the youth icon of the new, young line feel he has any form of responsibility to the youth? "Well, I do do social work but I haven't yet gotten actively involved in the youth affairs yet. I plan to be more involved in causes and I already run a charity for stray dogs," he ends.
