With 2006 seeing record after record broken, the rest of the year continues to look promising. This Friday, the highly anticipated Baabul opens, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rani Mukherji, Salman Khan and John Abraham. It is director Ravi Chopra's first film since the runaway hit Baghban in October of 2003. Chopra repeats Bachchan, Malini and Khan from Baghban while also adding Mukherji and Abraham for this film. Baghban did well with the critics, as it scored a 60% (which is good) with the critics (for all critics reviews for Baghban, click here). Meanwhile, Hrithik Roshan has found his competition this year to be himself. The two best reviewed Hindi action films of the year have been Dhoom 2 and Krrish, with Krrish scoring a 66% with critics (out of 44 critics reviews) and Dhoom 2 scoring a 64% (with 45 critics reviews), both of which are good.

Dhoom 2 has done better with critics than the first Dhoom, which had a 60% rating with the critics (for all critics reviews of the original Dhoom, click here). Krrish is currently the 5th best reviewed major film of the year, while Dhoom 2 is the 8th. The other major action film of the year, Don, trails both films with a 58% which is above average and ranks as #19 of the 20 best reviewed films of the year.
