Sanjay Will Participate In A 'Ganesh Yagna'
Sanjay Will Participate In A 'Ganesh Yagna'
MUMBAI: There are only a few days until the bail extension ends and Sanjay Dutt is praying for divine intervention again.

On Sunday, the actor will participate in a four-hour-long 'Ganesh yagna'at Siddhivinayak temple in an apparent bid to get a shorter jail sentence.

On November 28,convicted Dutt under the Arms Act by judge P D Kode, who extended his bail period, giving him until 19 December to make a few arrangements before he is to surrender to the court. It is likely he will make an application for further extension of bail.

If the application is rejected, he will be sent to the Arthur Road jail. While he has been not convicted under the provisions of TADA, he has been found guilty under the Arms Act and therefore may face a prison term of least five years or more.

Temple chief executive officer Hanumant Jagtap confirmed Dutt would be conducting the 'yagna'. A source close to Dutt said, "He is extremely worried. He has great faith in Lord Siddhivinayak and feels that by performing the 'yagna'his suffering will be reduced,".

On Sunday, his close friends and sister Priya Dutt, who is a Congress MP, will accompany Dutt to the temple which he has attended many times over the past 13 years. The 'yagna'will cost him Rs 15,0001.
