Friends like Emraan make life easierBy Taran Adarsh, October 3, 2006 - 09:15 IST What is Aaditya Datt, director of films such as Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Dil Diya Hai director doing next? "I am enjoying a break in Dubai. I am chilling out with my friends here, recharging my batteries," he says.
However, Aaditya's mind is concurrently working on a series of projects, even while he is on holiday. "I am committed to Bala Bhai [producer of A.B.A. and D.D.H.]. Also, Vashu Bhagnani has signed me for his forthcoming venture. A project with T-Series is also on the anvil," he divulges.
Although their last film together Dil Diya Hai didn't fare well, Emraan Hashmi is standing by Aaditya.
In an industry where equations change with the Friday release, it's nuce to see that Aaditya and Emraan have decided to work with each other again. "I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't disheartened with the failure of Dil Diya Hai. But friends like Emraan make life easier," he smiles.
Aaditya feels that Dil Diya Hai didn't perform well at the box office for two main reasons. "One, the Indian audiences cannot accept the hero to behave in an off-putting manner. The whole idea of Emraan pushing his sweetheart into the flesh trade came as a rude shock to the traditional Indian audiences. Also -- I hate to say this --Emraan and sex go together. He's an amazing actor, but it's difficult to break the shackles of your image," he states.
