Rumours are being widely spread that UTV has decided to postpone the release of Jodhaa Akbar claiming Ashutosh Gowariker has yet to finish shooting. Since the post-production would take another 2 to 3 months, the producers would have only a few weeks to launch the music and begin its promotion. The rumour mongers insist, instead of rushing matters, the makers have decided on a latter date, moving the film release from 12th October to January 2008.

"Absolutely untrue," Siddharth Roy Kapur of UTV denies the claim, "The fact is, Jodhaa Akbar is confirmed for 12th October, as on this date. There's no question of a postponement. Ashutosh is simultaneously working on the post-production of the film. That should ensure its arrival on time."
