Malaysia: Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad, who suffered a mild heart attack Thursday, was looking forward to attending a gala event with megasuperstar Shah Rukh Khan later this month, said Mahathir's son.

"We were talking about the Shah Rukh Khan concert coming up. He was quite excited about that," Mokhzani Mahathir told reporters after visiting his father in the hospital.

Khan, who is a megastar the world over, is wildly popular in Malaysia and is scheduled to attend a dinner and the premiere of his latest film Don in Kuala Lumpur later this month.

The film was mostly shot in Malaysia. It was released in theatres last month, ahead of the formal premiere, and has packed the cinemas halls.

At this point it isn't clear if Mahathir, 81, still plans to attend the premiere Khan events.
