The music for the much anticipated multi-starrer Baabul has released to good reviews. It is currently at a 63%. The general consensus is that it is a well rounded album with something for everyone. Baabul stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rani Mukerji, Salman Khan and John Abraham and deals with the re-marriage of a widow. Meanwhile, Umrao Jaan had a poor opening as the response all over was around 30% according to Box Office India. The reports are poor so the the film will struggle to recover costs. However, it's opening overseas was better, having done fair business in U.K. and Australia, despite mixed reports. In its opening weekend, the film has collected £ 136,011 [approx. Rs. 1.16 crores] on 39 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 3,487.

In the U.S., the film fared much better, as it grossed about $480,000 in its opening weekend, taking 40 percent more than Jaan-E-Mann did in the its first weekend. Abhishek Bachchan's popularity in the U.S. seems to be the reason for that opening, as he is enjoying a wave of popularity in the U.S. market.
