The Aishwarya Rai - Abhishek Bachchan starrer Umrao Jaan has been receiving poor reviews from the critics. As of this writing, there are 11 reviews for the film with only 2 being positive. It is currently at a 43% which is below average, however is close to falling below 40%, which is bad. There should be a lot more reviews for the film over the weekend, so make sure to keep checking this space. The common complaint amongst critics with the film is that it is too sappy and slow, and has too many songs which hinder the pace. The other biggies out in theatres are facing mixed results at the box office. According to Box Office India, Don has done very well in the first week even with negative reports. The first week has insured hit status in Mumbai, East Punjab, West Bengal and Mysore and it would have been declared hit in first week by the trade were it not for the competition. However in the second week the film dropped to 55%, which might make it difficult to ensure a global hit tag.

Meanwhile, Jaan-E-Mann has not done well in its first week. The collections did hold steady, albeit on the lower side. However, in its second week the collections dropped to around a 35%.
