However, ever the consummate performer, he continued with his show dates, despite suffering from a slip disc.

Last week while performing in Delhi, the singing star was reaching out to a child in the audience, suddenly he felt a shooting pain in his back.

In that fraction of a second, Sonu developed a slip-disc and collapsed.

Nonetheless, the emmense pain did not deter him from performing. After he completed the two-hour programme, Sonu then travelled for eight hours to reached Ludhiana, where he was scheduled to perform next. Following which, he then caught the flight to Mumbai for his show in Vashi.

Sonu's associate Ben Thomas confirms, "Sonu was in great pain in Delhi. The promoters tried dissuading him from performing and requested him to rest. But Sonu insisted on sticking to his commitments."

When contacted Sonu said, "I am better now. God has been kind to me. I managed all the three shows regardless of everything."

The singer has just returned from a month-long concert in the US and has swung right back into action at home. "But that's the nature of my job. I am just doing my work," he says.
