| John Abraham was a model who turned to acting and made his film debut with the controversal film Jism (2003), which co-starred his current girlfriend actor/model Bipasha Basu. Abraham's first blockbuster hit was for his film Dhoom (2004). In 2005 he starred in Kaal and Garam Masala both of which did well at the box office, as well as Deepa Mehta's Water for which his performance was critically acclaimed.
